New high sensitivity, gas damped shock accelerometer

IRVINE, Calif., USA – May 15, 2019 – Endevco, a leader in sensors for extreme environments, has added a new 2,000g range to the Endevco model 7280A and 7280AM7 piezoresistive accelerometers, used for the development and testing of weapons, military vehicles and railcars. The 7280A family is known for exceptional survivability with all sensors rated to survive 4X their rated range.

The new high sensitivity 2k g range is 600mV full scale and gives users a sensor with excellent signal-to-noise ratio and a balanced full-bridge MEMS with low drift and noise characteristics. The 7280AM7 adds a specialized cable with graphite insulated conductors to minimize shock-induced response and a reinforced cable-to-case connection for superior survivability in high g environments.

Key features include:
• 600mV full scale output
• Shock insensitive cable (M7 version)
• Reinforced cable-to-case connection (M7 version)
• Gas damped full bridge MEMS die
• Wide operating temperature range (-55 to 121 ͦC)

Every Endevco 7280A employs the latest MEMS (Micro Electronic Mechanical Systems) technology and is shipped with an NIST traceable calibration certificate and required mounting screws and washers for quick installation. Where triaxial measurements are required, the 7980 triaxial mounting block is available as an optional accessory. The 7280A family includes 2,000, 20,000 and 60,000 g ranges and is CE and RoHs compliant.
