IRVINE, Calif., USA – May 25, 2018 – Meggitt Sensing Systems, a division of Meggitt PLC, has released the Endevco Model 2771CM2 charge converter for use with extreme high temperature sensors in gas turbine, rocket engine, environmental stress screening and other testing applications. This rugged device is also radiation hardened making it well-suited for use in nuclear facilities.
Unlike standard charge converters, the 2771CM2 is specially designed to work with existing piezoelectric transducers whose resistance typically drops to 10-20KΩ when exposed to high temperatures (1200˚F/650˚C). It converts a sensor’s high impedance charge output to a low impedance voltage, allowing it to be easily connected to any IEPE powered signal conditioner or data acquisition system.
- Fixed gain of 1.0 mV/pC
- Low noise (down to 5 μVrms)
- Constant current range of 4-20 mA
- Harmonic distortion 1%
- Weight < 2 oz (57 gm)
- Radiation 1.0 MRads (integrated Gamma)
The 2771CM2 supports IEEE P1451.4, a smart transducer interface for sensors and actuators, and the device also contains an identification code via TEDS (Transducer Electronics Data Sheet) making it a good choice for high channel count applications.
