Meggitt introduces damped accelerometer for anthropomorphic testing device applications

IRVINE, Calif., USA – Nov 1, 2017 – Meggitt Sensing Systems, a Meggitt division and leader in sensing and monitoring systems for extreme environments, has launched the Endevco model 726C piezoresistive accelerometer with broad frequency response  –  ideal for in-dummy automotive crash testing.

The Endevco 726C incorporates the latest MEMS (Micro Electronic Mechanical Systems) technology to ensure the repeatability and reliability required by all crash test facilities. This lightweight sensor includes mechanical stops and multi-mode gas damping which provides exceptional frequency response and accurate measurement over -40 to +100 C temperature range. The inherently rugged design is DC responding and can withstand shocks up to 10,000 g.

Key features include:

– 2,000 g full scale range

– flat frequency response: +/-5% to 5,000 Hz

– SAE J211/J2570 compliance

– 2, 5 and 10 V standard calibration

An optional mounting block (7953A) is available for triaxial applications. Total quality control is implemented from the in-house fabrication facility to final test with certified calibration systems.
